Ensure Political Violence Does Not Escalate
29 April 2013
We are here today over our shared concern about the escalating violence over the past few weeks. These bombs, Molotov cocktail, arson, wielding of parangs and metal rods are unprecedented in Malaysian election campaigns.
We are alarmed that the Minister of Home Affairs stated publicly that these happenings would worsen more than a month ago, in what we consider an endorsement of political violence, and that these incidents have indeed occurred. However, we applaud the Police force, especially the Penang Police force for taking swift action to pre-empt any further violence and setting up a task force to investigate the incidents.
How dare they...

How dare they try to buy this election. The Prime Minister's office has outspent every other advertiser in the country to pay for campaign ads. Why?
Because we have the momentum.
How dare they claim to have free and fair elections when every single newspaper and television station is spreading lies and misconception about Pakatan Rakyat and we are not given one minute of airtime or allowed to place a single ad. Why?
Because we have the momentum. We have the momentum and they are scared.
In six days you will vote in the most important election in the history of Malaysia. Your vote will affect the lives of generations of Malaysians to come. With your help our campaign has built up tremendous momentum. The crowds that are coming to our events from Perlis to Johor and in Sabah and Sarawak are unprecedented.
We need your financial support to keep this momentum going. Will you make a contribution today of RM100, RM200, RM500 or RM2000?
We will not beat BN by outspending them. We will beat BN by outsmarting them. In just one week the Digital Task Force has reached over five million Malaysians who want to change this country. Money cannot buy that kind of impact.
Your contribution will help us to keep fighting to win the 222 seats that PKR, PAS and DAP are contesting.
Your contribution will help us fuel the momentum of our troops on the ground, print posters and signs and help us organize crucial rallies and events around the country.
Your contribution of just RM500 or RM2000 will give the Digital Task Force the resources it needs to bring the truth to the Malaysian people.
You have helped us and your support is appreciated. We could not have made it without you but we're asking you in these last few days to help again. We cannot afford to lose the momentum before Election Day.

The Raja and the 'princess' take gloves off
He is an entrepreneur-turned-politician from Negeri Sembilan royalty, a top student back in school and a shabby golfer. She is a crowd magnet, a daddy's girl and the youngest member of Malaysia's Parliament.
Umno's Datuk Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin and the "princess of reform" Nurul Izzah Anwar of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) are battling to win the hearts and minds of 72,533 voters in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur, a hot seat in the country's watershed 13th General Election.
Nik Aziz launches Qaradawi letter endorsing Anwar as PM
Hazlan Zakaria, 7:21PM Apr 26, 2013
KUALA LUMPUR PAS spiritual adviser Nik Aziz Nik Mat today launched a Pakatan Rakyat campaign pamphlet carrying an open letter from prominent international Sunni cleric Yusuf Qaradawi, endorsing opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim as candidate for prime minister.
Nik Aziz (in white robe) launched the pamphlet at the Pantai Permai people’s housing project in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur.
Accompanying him was PKR’s Lembah Pantai incumbent Nurul Izzah Anwar, who is facing a tough battle to defend her seat against her challenger from BN, caretaker Federal Territories and Urban Well-being Minister Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin.
Nik Aziz’s launch of the letter in the heart of the low-income Malay area is a clear attempt to shore up Malay Muslim support for the embattled giant-killer Nurul, who had wrested the seat from former minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in her maiden political appearance in GE12.
Three Challenges to three Barisan Nasional 'fixed deposit states' of Sarawak, Sabah and Johore on their catalytic role to take Pakatan Rakyat to Putrajaya in 13GE
The coming 13th GE is the most historic and significant one in the 56-year history of the nation as Malaysians will decide if the change of Federal government in Putrajaya will come about on Polling Day on May 5, 2013.
The battle of the 13GE is the battle between the politics of the future represented by the Pakatan Rakyat coalition versus the politics of the past as practised by the Barisan Nasional in the past few decades.
The politics of the past is the politics of race and the politics of rampant corruption, cronyism, massive abuses of power, gross violation of democratic and human rights, injustices, unsustainable development because of despoilation of the environment, lack of transparency, accountability and good governance.
Vote buying and Foreign Voters
APRIL 25, 2013
Since Nomination Day, I have been traveling the whole length of Peninsular Malaysia, and Sabah and Sarawak. Pakatan Rakyat is witnessing a new wave of groundswell of support that will unleash another tsunami. Even in the so-called UMNO fortress of Johor, we are seeing an unstoppable momentum building up. Last night in Segamat, over thirty thousand people came.
I have also been briefed by many Pakatan leaders and civil society leaders on what is happening on the ground. The intimidation and level of violence on Pakatan Rakyat party workers, Pemantau and civil society volunteers are increasing. Over 400 police reports have been lodged. Vote buying and bribery are rampant. BN is so worried that they will lose and are desperately bribing voters with gifts, cash and cash vouchers ranging from RM50 in Penang to RM1000 in Sabah. There is video evidence of this vote buying, and it will be released in the next few days.
Pakatan will not defend 'violent' supporters
Hazlan Zakaria, 1:11PM Apr 25, 2013
There will be no succor for Pakatan Rakyat supporters found to be responsible for political or election-linked violence, said Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.
"We will not defend them, if anyone from Pakatan is found to be involved," he said.
Anwar was responding to BN allegations that Pakatan supporters were behind recent attacks against its election infrastructure.
